CVS: For this purchase, I used my $3 Extra Care Reward Bucks to get a carton of eggs and 1 single serve package of sunflower seeds for 6 cents! So at the end of the day, I only payed $28.89! As you can tell, the bulk items in my purchase were produce. Well, I bought this much produce because I still have a good stockpile of grains in my pantry. The one thing I was lacking were fresh fruits and vegetables. Out of my cart, here are A FEW of the possible meals I can make (including the food already in my pantry).
Breakfast:
- Breakfast tacos
- Oatmeal with a fruit salad
- Scrambled eggs, fajita style with salsa and green bell peppers
- Fruit smoothie (using the yogurt purchased in the 9/15 haul)
Lunch/Dinner:
- Beef burritos
- Chicken fajitas (using the avocdao from the 9/15 haul)
- Fish tacos
- Spaghetti with meat sauce with sauteed zucchini (pasta sauce from my stockpile)
- Veggie stir fry (using green beans, bell pepper, zucchini, and broccoli)
- Baked/broiled tilapia with rice and steam vegetables
- A classic chicken dinner! Chicken, rice, and corn always hits the spot
Stay tuned for recipes and more!
